Non-Surgical Techniques for the Hygienist
This is a basic techniques course that leads to certification in soft tissue diode laser for dentists and dental hygienists and meets the Iowa Dental Board requirements for laser education. Dental Assistants are welcome to join and learn what they need to know about the technology but will not be certified in laser dentitry.
The course is designed for offices who are considering the purchase of a laser, who have recently jumped into laser dentistry or those who would like to increase the use of the diode laser in their practice. You do not need to own a laser to attend this course.
For hygienists, you do not need to be employed in a laser dentistry office to attend. Before treating patients, we strongly recommend that your dentist has the appropriate education and experience to allow proper supervision.
Covered are procedures Dr. Swett uses daily to improve patient comfort, treatment outcomes, productivity and expand the range of services provided. Laser physics, safety and mechanics are included. Specific treatment protocols are given.
